Well, a dog did backflip in the 2001 Garfield film: the greatest film of all time except maybe The Bee Movie.

So by default, dogs have the win. Cats can land on their feet no matter what, but still cannot do a backflip. Perhaps they should start eating less lasagne and go on a diet.
