Round 1: Companionship & affection

Unless you’re a part of the 1% that want a pet who is less loving than a block of cheese, level of companionship is extremely important.

Both cats and dogs can be extremely affectionate. My cat Louis always loves a good ol’ neck scratch and belly rub, and can be very vocal about not getting what he wants!

Overall though, dogs are generally more affectionate due to their higher reliance on you as their guardian, and thousands more years of domestication. Cats, while loving a good cuddle, often require much more ‘me time’ than dogs who provide nothing but unconditional love.
